In this time 9 : 50 the both hand of clock are lies be- tween 6 to 12 clockwise. Hence we subtract that time from 17 : 90

Therefore in 30 minute
= \frac{12}{11}\times30
= 32\frac{8}{11} min

At 7 o'clock,  the hands are 35 min  space apart.
To from 1800 between 7:00 to 8:00, The minute hand has to gain (35-30)= 5min.

=  \frac{12}{11} min gain.
Therefore in 5 min
= \frac{12}{11}\times5

=  5\frac{5}{11}  min
Hence, Required time
